Why do peptide prices vary so much between compounds?

Price follows the peptide, not the packaging. A longer amino-acid chain takes more synthesis steps and more purification, so it costs more per milligram than a short one — a tripeptide such as KPV is inherently cheaper to make than a 39-residue analogue. Vial mass matters just as much: a 30 mg vial holds three times the material of a 10 mg vial of the same compound. Multi-peptide blends carry the cost of every component in the vial.

Is a bigger vial cheaper per mg?
