Product details
Epithalon Australia. Epithalon (also written Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide studied in laboratory research as a pineal-peptide bioregulator referenced across telomere-biology and cellular-ageing research literature. The Elite AU Peptides epithalon is independently HPLC-tested above 99% purity by Janoshik; the certificate of analysis is published on this page and in the lab-reports library, with the measured number and an independently verifiable Janoshik key.
Stocked and dispatched AU-domestic in a 10 mg lyophilised vial, AUD pricing. Every batch is held until the independent HPLC report comes back within our acceptance threshold; nothing is listed without a certificate on file. Supplied strictly for in-vitro and laboratory research use only — not for human or animal consumption, not a therapeutic good, not TGA-approved.

Epithalon (CAS 307297-39-8; molecular formula C14H22N4O9, average molecular weight ≈ 390 g/mol) is the tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG). It is a short synthetic “peptide bioregulator” modelled on the pineal polypeptide preparation epithalamin, developed within the peptide-bioregulator research programme associated with Khavinson and colleagues.
In cellular-ageing research, epithalon is studied primarily for reported effects on telomerase (hTERT) expression and telomere length in cultured human somatic cells — the finding first reported by Khavinson and colleagues (Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2003), who described induction of telomerase activity and telomere elongation in human fibroblasts. In-vivo ageing-biomarker work by Anisimov and colleagues (Biogerontology, 2003) examined the peptide against markers of ageing in rodent models.
A recent comprehensive peer-reviewed review (Araj and colleagues, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2025) surveys twenty-five years of mechanistic, in-vitro and in-vivo work and notes that the precise molecular mechanism remains uncertain — epithalon is investigated as a model compound for telomere-biology and gene-regulation research rather than as a ligand for a single defined receptor.
Within the peptide-bioregulator framework, epithalon is one of the most-studied short regulatory peptides, and the Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly motif recurs across a body of work examining peptide effects on gene expression in cultured cells. Because it carries no receptor of its own, it is used less as a selective ligand and more as a small, well-defined model tetrapeptide for probing telomere-maintenance and gene-regulation questions in cell-culture research — which is also why its handling profile (a stable, freely water-soluble powder) makes it a practical reference compound.
The information provided here is a research-reference summary only. Elite AU Peptides makes no medical, therapeutic, anti-ageing, longevity-outcome, or human-use claim about this product. Epithalon is not TGA-approved, is not a therapeutic good, and is supplied strictly for in-vitro and laboratory research use only. Researchers should consult the primary peer-reviewed literature for protocol-specific reference values.
Reconstitute the lyophilised epithalon vial with bacteriostatic water for laboratory handling. As a small, highly polar tetrapeptide it is freely water-soluble; add the diluent slowly down the vial wall and swirl gently. A 10 mg vial reconstituted in 2 mL of bacteriostatic water yields a 5 mg/mL working stock — adjust to your protocol’s target concentration.
Store the lyophilised powder at −20°C, desiccated and protected from light; once reconstituted, store refrigerated at 2–8°C and use within the documented research window, or aliquot and freeze to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Tamper-evident packaging; the batch label is the canonical reference for the certificate of analysis published in the lab-reports library.

- What is Epithalon?
- Epithalon (also written Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide — Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG) — a pineal-peptide bioregulator referenced across telomere-biology and cellular-ageing research literature. Supplied strictly for in-vitro and laboratory research use only.
- Is Epithalon the same as Epitalon?
- Yes — "Epithalon" and "Epitalon" are two spellings of the same Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG) tetrapeptide. Both refer to the identical compound; the product page and certificate use the same molecule regardless of spelling.
- Is Epithalon TGA-approved in Australia?
- No. Epithalon is not TGA-approved and is not a therapeutic good. We supply it strictly for in-vitro laboratory research use only and make no anti-ageing, longevity-outcome, or human-use claim about this product.
- Is this product third-party tested?
- Yes. Every batch is independently HPLC-tested by Janoshik, and the certificate of analysis is published on the lab-reports page.
- How should it be stored?
- Store the lyophilised powder at −20°C. Once reconstituted, keep it refrigerated at 2–8°C and use within the documented research window.
- How is it shipped?
- Dispatched AU-domestic from Australia. Free shipping over $100; orders placed before 12pm AEST are dispatched the same business day.
- What does 'research use only' mean?
- All products are supplied for in-vitro / laboratory research use only. They are not for human or animal consumption, are not therapeutic goods, and are not TGA-approved.
